This piece is from my Strange Fruit series of drafts, a continuing series started following the 2025 presidential inauguration. Many pieces woven from these drafts seek to illustrate the unexpected and often convoluted consequences of decisions. Reflections on the fruits of current developments in technology led to this weaving.

I was introduced to weaving in my late teens, and wove off and on for several years before entering graduate school to study statistics and mathematics. After nearly 4 decades in mathematics I returned to weaving. It was a pleasure to discover that in the intervening time Texsolv had been developed, and that both it and weaving software were easily available. I currently have 3 floor looms; an 8 shaft Schacht Baby Wolf, an 8 shaft Mecchia countermarch loom, and a 24 shaft Leclerc Weavebird. I am primarily a recreational weaver who likes to experiment with patterns, colors, and fibers. I am fascinated with layered weaving and evolving patterns, but also like to produce textiles that can become part of everyday life. My wall hangings are intermittently shown at Pegasus Gallery in Corvallis, Oregon.
