This is the first piece in a two-part study of satins. The design was inspired by my beekeeping friends and I went through many iterations before they were satisfied. This towel uses six-end satin which creates a hard edge in the design. This worked particularly well in the checkered areas.

Susannah Day
Susannah Day is a passionate weaver whose favorite thing to weave is whatever she hasn’t tried yet. Susannah has a background in computers, graphic design, and a degree in archaeology from the University of Oregon. She especially loves weaving on the drawloom because it melds the artistic freedom of weaving with the more rigid structure of computerized graphics.
